This four week workshop will focus on the basics of zinc plate etching and copper sulphate. Students will learn how to prepare plates, use hard and soft grounds to make a line etching, apply an aquatint to develop a range of tones in their prints, use chine colle to add colour and soft ground to add texture. Beginners welcome but this is also a chance to explore new techniques.
Materials: Participants need to provide their own zinc plates and printing paper (these can be purchased from Amanda directly if needed). All other materials are included (inks, grounds, tarlaton, brushes, rollers).
